Riverside Health Center is a Primary Care Health Center conveniently located within Riverside High School. We provide healthcare to school age children and their families, school staff, and the surrounding community of Belle, West Virginia. We are here to provide care to students of busy working families, students without transportation and students with or without insurance. We provide care to students efficiently so they miss very little classroom time and parents can have peace of mind knowing that we will be here to provide all of their primary care when they need us.

We are part of the Cabin Creek Health Systems, your community owned non-profit health center. We have provided services to students at Riverside High and the surrounding community since 2001. We have a dedicated medical staff including a board certified physician, a physician assistant, an adolescent medicine specialist as well as licensed social workers.

All students are entitled and eligible for preventive and primary care services as well as health education and behavioral health services regardless of ability to pay. We encourage all students to make responsible personal health decisions that will lead to healthy and productive lives.

Students will be seen for urgent problems or other medical issues by reporting to the Health Center during school hours. Family members or local residents can be seen for urgent problems or other medical issues by calling the Health Center office. Every effort will be made to schedule same day appointments for urgent medical needs.

What services does RHC provide?

Our services include adolescent health services for preventive care includes well-child with screenings for health and safety issues, sports physicals and immunizations, routine care for sickness, health education for diseases such as obesity, diabetes, eating disorders, asthma, tobacco/alcohol use, drug use, abstinence education with an emphasis on risky behaviors and sexually transmitted disease prevention, access to counselors for stress reduction, anger management and coping skills, procedures-lab work, wart removal and allergy injections. We also do prescriptions and referrals to specialists when needed.

We also provide adult and women’s health care that includes routine care for sickness, as well as care for chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. We screen for breast and cervical cancer and provide family planning services.

Do I have to have insurance?

We help pay for care by both state and private funding to help cover costs of the services provided to our school age children so that no child is denied access to medical care regardless of insurance or income levels. If you don’t have insurance, you may be eligible for special programs and /or sliding fee discounts. Our staff will help you complete applications for these programs.
